In 1994, Lynn Hogan, moved from Palos Verdes to Bonsall and acquired the 21-acre ranch that, at the time, only had two corrals. Over the years, Lynn Hogan has worked to transform the ranch into the first-class facility it is today. From the spacious, well-maintained stalls to the premium hay and feed we provide, every detail is designed to ensure that your horse is healthy, happy, and comfortable.
At its height, the 21-acre ranch was home to over 100 horses on site, making it one of the largest and most prestigious horse boarding and breeding facility in the area. Along with Khemosabi, the ranch was home to Alada Baskin, Baskhemo, and Sir Victor, an Arabian stallion who sired over 1500 foals during his lifetime.

From 2011 to 2023, the boarding facility was operated by Lynne Hayes and was known as Horse Spirit Ranch. During this time, Lynne continued to maintain the high standards of care and service that our facility is known for, and many horse owners from the region entrusted their beloved animals to her care.
In 2023, after a bout of cancer, Lynn Hogan reclaimed her ranch from Lynne Hayes and resumed operation of the boarding facility under the new name, People of the Horse. The name is in honor of the special relationship between the American Indian horse and the tribes to which they belonged.
At People of the Horse, we strive to honor this legacy by providing the best possible care and attention to every horse in our facility.
